What’s been happening:

Dr. John Foster Magill is a native of Pennsylvania and a World War II veteran. He served for three years with the United States Army parachute troops and was wounded in action three times when his unit jumped behind enemy lines in Germany. His unit was honored with the Presidential Unit Citation for the act. He has also been awarded 3 Bronze Battle Stars and a Bronze Star for Operation "Varsity". A graduate of Bloomsburg University in 1948, Magill received his masters degree in 1953 and his doctorate in 1965 from the Pennsylvania State University. Having served public, private and post-secondary education for over 30 years, Magill has had a number of magazine articles published and recently coauthored an educational handbook, Public Education in the New Millennium. He is a recipient of the Purple Heart with two clusters, a Freedoms Foundation Award for teaching, and was recently inducted into the Legion of Honor-The Chapel of the Four Chaplains. Magill is married to the former Anna Martini. The couple had five children: John, Susan, Thomas, Kathryn, and Rebecca. Susan is deceased as of 2004. WOunded while quelling SS position in Munster, Germany. Discharged Dec. 21, 1945 as corporal. Dr. Magill was an educator for 35 years in public, private, and higher education.
